Privacy Policy

Version 4 · effective October 15, 2026. GetStride is made by Zerodotone, LLC ("we"). This explains what the app collects, why, and what you control.

The short version

Apple Health

With your permission, GetStride reads workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, active energy, distance and date of birth from Apple Health. The app uses them on your phone to score each workout.

For each workout we upload only a summary: sport, start and end time, duration, distance, elevation gain, indoor or outdoor, the app that recorded it, whether it was sensor-recorded, an effort multiplier (one number between 0.7 and 1.25), the points it earned, and its average heart rate, max heart rate and active calories. We don't upload heart-rate readings, routes, GPS data or your date of birth.

Other players in your clubs and games see your points, time, distance, pace, climbing and effort. Your heart rate and calories stay private unless you turn them on in Settings → What others see.

Sleep (optional). If you turn on rest points, GetStride reads sleep from Apple Health, recorded by a watch or ring. Your phone works out rest points from it. We upload only the date and the points, and only for nights you post. They count only in games where you said yes, and you can say no again any time in Settings → Rest points. "Delete my rest points" removes every night you posted. We keep a record of each time you turn rest points on or off for a game, so we can show what you agreed to.

Health data is only used to run the game. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with sponsors or data brokers. GetStride doesn't write to Apple Health.

What other players see

Players in a league or game with you see your display name, emoji or profile photo, your points, the workout summaries that scored them, and your league handicap. Your teammates see your team chat messages.

If you enter an open draft, captains in that draft see a scouting card: your averages (points per week, workouts per week, top sports, trophies) and your one-line pitch. They don't see individual workouts until you're drafted. They see your home area as a city, never an exact location.

People who aren't in a league with you can't see any of this.

The Daily

When you play the Daily, we upload your result: the mission, your stars (0–3), the minutes, efforts or distance that matched, and which workout it came from.

If you've picked a city, your result carries that city (rounded to about 10 km) so you can rank locally. Other players near you see your rank as "A local", not your name, unless they already share a club or game with you. Everyone else sees your first name and stars.

Events

Events show the meeting spot the organizer picked. Open events are visible to anyone signed in; members-only events only to the club.

When you say Going or Maybe, the organizer and people who can see the event see your name. After an event, we count how many people who said Going recorded a workout during it. Only the count is shown.

What we collect

Consumer health data

Some state laws, like Washington's, give you extra rights over health data. Here's how they apply to GetStride:

Safety and moderation

Messages and comments are checked automatically for abuse before they post. When you report something, we keep a copy of the reported text so we can review it.

Sponsored rewards

Sponsors only get totals, like how many players earned or opened a reward. When you open a reward, the code is just for you. If you use it on the sponsor's site, the sponsor's own privacy policy applies there.

Who processes data for us

They process data only to provide their service to us.

Your choices

Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. We keep reports about abuse for up to a year after they're resolved.

Security incidents

If a breach affects your health data, we'll tell you, and the authorities the law requires, without unreasonable delay and within 60 days.

Children

GetStride isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact
